DETAILED ITINERARY
Early Morning Departure
Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 AM. Begin the journey heading south of Cusco, passing through quiet Andean villages while your guide provides information about local life, geography, and the region’s traditions.
Arrival at the Trailhead
After a scenic drive, stop for breakfast before continuing to the starting point of the hike. The guide will give a safety briefing and tips to help you manage the altitude.
Hike to Rainbow Mountain
Start the hike at a steady and comfortable pace. Along the trail, enjoy impressive mountain views, grazing llamas and alpacas, and the vast Andean landscape. Horse assistance is available for those who prefer additional support.
Rainbow Mountain Viewpoint

Return to Cusco

Itinerary
FULL ITINERARY:
- 04:30 – 05:00 a.m.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in our private transportation and begin the journey toward the town of Cusipata. - 06:30 – 07:30 a.m.
Arrive in Cusipata and enjoy a nourishing buffet breakfast to start your day. - 07:30 – 08:30 a.m.
We continue driving to the end of the road (bus station). where the hike begins, to the Rainbow Mountain. - 08:30 – 10:30 a.m.
We start our hike toward Rainbow Mountain. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a spectacular landscapes and may see local Andean animals such as llamas and alpacas. - 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Upon reaching the top, your guide will explain us about the area and point out the stunning surrounding views, including the magical Ausangate Glacier. - 11:00 – 12:30 p.m.
We go back to the bus station, where our transport will be waiting for us. - 12:30 – 01:30 p.m.
We return to the community of Cusipata for our lunch. - 01:30 – 02:30 p.m.
We are going to enjoy a buffet lunch, with a variety of traditional dishes. - 02:30 – 05:00 p.m.
We continue going back to Cusco, finishing the tour around the main square.
